Director of Legislative Affairs

In 2014, after working on Carlos Menchaca's successful campaign for a seat in the New York City Council, I began working on legislation, evaluating and recommending support or opposition to proposed bills, assisting in developing legislation, and monitoring its progress.  Other responsibilities included briefing the Council Member on topics to be covered in Committee hearings and chronicling his official activities.   After he was elected to a second 4-year term, I transferred all my responsibilities to others in order to prepare for our relocation to Columbia County. Although it is included in this section of the website, I actually considered this an unsalaried position rather than a volunteer activity.
