An interim management engagement which occurred while the Director was on a six-month leave of absence. The Work Exchange was subsequently renamed The Center for Rehabilitation and Recovery
Fordham Tremont Community Mental Health Center,
Bronx, NY. 2002-2007
Director of Operations. Oversight of human resources, information technology, claims processing, facilities maintenance, purchase and supply, and budgeting. Other responsibilities were flexible, predominantly interdepartmental problem resolution. The first ten months were contracted for 20 hours a week and then changed to full time with flexible hours to allow for the continuation of ongoing consulting practice.
Jewish Association for Services for the Aged, New York, NY. 1997-2002
Deputy Executive Vice President for Information Technology. 1998-2002. Oversight of the agency’s computer system, including infrastructure enhancement, help desk, and application development in an integrated system that included almost 400 pieces of equipment in 50 sites. Directly developed 13 applications, including workflow designs and social service databases.
Deputy Executive Vice President for Services. 1997-1998. Responsible for the planning and directing of the agency’s services to 47,000 elderly persons annually. Services included adult protective services, case management, legal assistance, senior centers, housing, home care, congregate and home-delivered meals, mental health, information and referral, and other related services.

Director of Mental Health and AIDS Services. Planning and directing agency activities in the areas of mental health and services to individuals with HIV infection and AIDS. This was a full-time position with flexible hours that allowed for ongoing consulting practice.
Westchester Jewish Community Services, Hartsdale, NY. 1988-1991
Executive Director. Chief executive officer of an agency that provided services in mental health, developmental disabilities, health care and social services in 23 sites and that employed over 500 staff.
County of Westchester, New York, White Plains, NY 1975-1988
Commissioner of Community Mental Health, 1978-1988. Responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, and directing activities within Westchester County in the areas of mental health, developmental disabilities, alcohol, and other chemical dependencies.
Acting Director of Employment and Training, Mid-1978. A temporary assignment to study, evaluate, and reorganize Westchester's CETA (The Federal Comprehensive Employment and Training Act) program.
Deputy Commissioner of Social Services, 1975-1978. Responsible for program, policy and procedure development, systems development, and quality control in the areas of income maintenance, social services, child welfare, child and adult protective services, adoption, and medical assistance. For a period of six months, after the first year and a half, I was also responsible for accounting, budgeting, payment processing, and other administrative support functions.

Deputy Director of Public Welfare (Special Assistant to the Director)
Responsible for the Department of Public Welfare's central communication system and development and coordination of the operating plan and the corrective action plan based on quality control findings. Other responsibilities were flexible and included major problem resolution.
Boston Children's Service Association, Boston, MA 1970-1973
Associate Director. Responsible for intake, emergency services, staff development, student training, a treatment camp, and two units of staff serving emotionally disabled children, children whose home situation was intolerable, expectant mothers, adoptive applicants, and adoptive parents.
Hull House Association, Chicago, IL. 1964-1967
Director of Social Work Services, 1965-1967. Responsible for all social work practice and programs within this seven-agency settlement house association, including the development of a social work student training program with 32 students from 3 schools of social work
Social Group Worker, 1964-1965. Provided social work treatment services to members of families with multiple problems.

Director of Children's Activities. Administration of the Children's Department, which operated 45 groups and four open activities. Social group work with four children's groups.
