My Life as a Point of a Pencil

By Gene Aronowitz
Promising
penciled-in possibilities
attached to rubbings
of eraser, brushed
unceremoniously
off the page,
swept up,
placed on
the pyre,
earmarked for
might-have-beens.
I need to change - be bold
like a tip of a pen
daring, indelible.
A version of this memoir is included in the book Brief Memoirs.
